In a striking turn of events at the Dutch Grand Prix, Lando Norris has raised eyebrows across the Formula One grid by declaring that McLaren now boasts the fastest car in the championship. Verstappen, meanwhile, was left grappling with the implications of this performance. The reigning world champion acknowledged the alarming decline in Red Bull’s performance, describing their car’s issues as “alarming.” He admitted that the weekend was challenging and that McLaren’s pace was simply too strong. “We don’t have the fastest car right now,” Verstappen conceded. “We need to understand what went wrong and make the necessary improvements.”
Despite the setback, Verstappen remains in a strong position in the championship standings, holding a 70-point lead. However, the pressure is mounting on Red Bull to address their performance issues swiftly. In contrast, Ferrari had a more encouraging weekend with Charles Leclerc securing a podium finish and Carlos Sainz also making significant progress.
