Comedian Janey Godley Announces She is Receiving End-of-Life Care for Cancer
In deeply emotional news, Scottish comedian Janey Godley has revealed that she is receiving end-of-life care due to her ongoing battle with terminal cancer. The 63-year-old, who gained viral fame during the COVID-19 pandemic for her comedic voiceovers of Nicola Sturgeon’s briefings, shared this heartbreaking update in a video on social media. After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021, Godley initially received the all-clear following treatments in 2022. I just couldn’t take any more of it,” Godley said, speaking candidly about the progression of her illness. Despite the gravity of her condition, she remained characteristically lighthearted, telling her fans that she doesn’t know how much time she has left and humorously adding, “I’m not a TikTok.”
Having had to cancel her autumn tour due to the spread of her stage four ovarian cancer, Godley’s focus is now on spending quality time with her family, particularly her daughter Ashley and her husband. The outpouring of love and support from friends and celebrities has been overwhelming, with figures like Nigella Lawson and Nicola Sturgeon sending heartfelt messages of admiration and comfort.
