Emma Roberts Reveals She Missed a Role onThe O.C.Due to Her Mother's Restrictions

In a recent interview, Roberts revealed that she was once in line to audition for the role of Kaitlin Cooper, Marissa Cooper's younger sister, on the hit series. The opportunity, however, slipped through her fingers because of one unexpected factor: her mom.
Roberts explained that during the time when The O.C. was airing, her mother considered the show inappropriate for young viewers and restricted her from watching it. Despite being a huge fan of the series herself, re-watching every season as it came out, she was not allowed to watch it when it first aired. This ban from watching the show also extended to auditioning for it. Roberts admitted in her interview that she's "still mad" at her mom for not allowing her to audition for Kaitlin Cooper. With Marlene King, the showrunner of Pretty Little Liars , on board, Roberts expressed excitement about the project, calling it something she has always dreamed of being a part of. The show, set in the high-profile neighborhood of Calabasas, is also deeply personal for Roberts and Kardashian, as they both hail from the area.
