Former Miss Switzerland Finalist Brutally Murdered by Husband in Gruesome Crime
In a deeply disturbing and tragic event, Kristina Joksimovic, a former finalist for Miss Switzerland, was brutally killed by her husband in a horrific crime that has shocked Switzerland and the world. Kristina, who was just 38 years old, was found dead in February in her home near Basel, Switzerland. The grisly details of the murder have emerged, revealing that her 41-year-old husband, referred to in local media as "Thomas," strangled her to death, dismembered her body, and even went so far as to "puree" her remains using a blender.

Swiss officials stated that there were "concrete indications of a mental illness" in the case, which may have played a role in the husband's behavior. However, despite his claims of self-defense, investigators found no evidence to support his story. Thomas had initially told the authorities that Kristina had attacked him with a knife and that he acted to protect himself. But upon further examination, it was clear that she had been strangled and then dismembered with various tools, including a jigsaw and garden shears. His actions, particularly the mutilation of her body, were described by prosecutors as showing "a noticeably high level of criminal energy" and a chilling lack of empathy.

Just weeks before Kristina's death, they shared photos from a romantic getaway. Kristina Joksimovic was a beloved figure in Switzerland, having been crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland and becoming a finalist for the Miss Switzerland pageant in 2007. After her modeling career, she worked as a catwalk coach, mentoring other young models, including Dominique Rinderknecht, who competed in the Miss Universe pageant in 2013. Friends and former colleagues, such as former Miss Switzerland Christa Rigozzi, expressed their deep shock and sorrow at the news of her death, calling her a kind-hearted and beautiful woman.
The case remains under investigation, and while her husband has confessed to the crime, the court rejected his appeal for release, keeping him in custody.
