Jamie Theakston Reveals Stage One Laryngeal Cancer Diagnosis
In a heartfelt announcement that has touched many, Jamie Theakston, the well-loved co-host of Heart Radio’s Breakfast Show, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with stage one laryngeal cancer. Theakston, 53, disclosed that he recently underwent surgery to remove a lesion from his vocal cords. Following the operation, a biopsy confirmed the presence of stage one laryngeal cancer. Despite this daunting diagnosis, Theakston's outlook remains positive. He conveyed his determination and optimism, stating, “So – I have cancer – but cancer doesn’t have me. The prognosis is very positive and I’m hoping to be back with you in October.”
During this period, Theakston will be taking time off to rest his voice, as advised by his medical team. He expressed his gratitude to his colleagues, particularly Jason King and Amanda Holden, who will be taking over his duties on the show.
