Linkin Park Welcomes Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain, Announces New Album and Tour
In a thrilling announcement that has sent ripples through the music world, Linkin Park has unveiled its new lineup, featuring Emily Armstrong from the rock band Dead Sara as their new co-vocalist and Colin Brittain as the new drummer. This marks a significant chapter for the band, as they prepare to release their first album in seven years.
On September 5, 2024, during a high-energy live performance event in Los Angeles, Linkin Park introduced Armstrong and Brittain to fans, signaling the start of a new era for the band. This announcement was accompanied by the release of their latest single, “The Emptiness Machine,” which offers a glimpse into the band’s refreshed sound. The single is the lead track from their upcoming album, “From Zero,” scheduled for release on November 15, 2024.
The album will be their first major project since 2017’s “One More Light,” which was released shortly before the tragic death of lead vocalist Chester Bennington. The new lineup, consisting of returning members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn, along with Armstrong and Brittain, promises to bring both continuity and innovation to Linkin Park’s music.

Shinoda expressed his excitement about the new phase for the band, highlighting the significance of the album title, “From Zero.” He noted that it symbolizes both their beginnings and their journey forward, blending their iconic sound with new, vibrant elements. “We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years and excited about the journey ahead,” Shinoda said. The new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” is described as capturing the essence of Linkin Park’s signature style while exploring new musical territory.
The band will also embark on a “From Zero” World Tour, starting with six arena dates across major cities: Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogotá. This tour marks their first extensive live run since Bennington’s passing, and fans are eagerly anticipating the chance to experience the band’s new lineup in action.
Linkin Park’s decision to bring in Armstrong and Brittain comes after years of careful consideration and collaboration with various musicians. The band’s members had been meeting privately in recent years, gradually finding a special connection with their new recruits. “We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together,” Shinoda shared.
As anticipation builds for “From Zero,” fans can look forward to a blend of familiar Linkin Park elements and fresh, innovative sounds. The band’s journey from their early days as Xero to their current reinvention is a testament to their enduring legacy and their commitment to evolving with their audience. Pre-sale tickets for the upcoming tour will be available for the LP Underground fan club starting September 6, with general sales beginning the following day.
Linkin Park’s latest chapter is not just about looking back but embracing the future, and with Armstrong and Brittain on board, they are set to make a powerful impact in the music world once again.
