Michigan Inmate Secures $100 Million Judgment Against Sean 'Diddy' Combs for Sexual Assault
In a striking turn of events, a Michigan inmate has won a staggering $100 million judgment against the renowned music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs. This remarkable decision came down on September 9, 2024, from Lenawee County Circuit Court Judge Anna Marie Anzalone, marking what could be the largest default judgment ever awarded to a currently incarcerated individual.
The case centers around Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, a 51-year-old inmate with a notable history of challenging the judicial system through civil lawsuits. Cardello-Smith accused Combs of drugging and sexually assaulting him at a Detroit party back in 1997. The lawsuit, which has now resulted in this unprecedented judgment, was supported by Cardello-Smith's own investigation and legal maneuvers, despite his current incarceration at the Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility in Muskegon Heights.
