At Kevin Costner’s annual One805Live! charity event in Santa Barbara, Prince Harry took center stage while Meghan Markle was notably absent due to illness. This highly anticipated event, which raises funds for first responders, saw Harry presenting an award to local helicopter pilot Loren Courtney. He charmed the crowd with his wit, joking that both he and Courtney were more comfortable behind a helicopter's controls than on stage.
While Harry participated in the event with a relaxed and casual demeanor, wearing a suit but notably forgoing socks, Meghan’s absence was keenly felt. Having attended the same event with Harry the previous year, many had expected her to join him again. However, reports indicated that she was unable to attend due to sickness, leaving Harry to represent the couple solo at this year’s event.

At one point, Marx nearly walked right past Prince Harry, not recognizing him initially, but eventually greeted him after being directed toward the Duke. This interaction, along with a mishap where Marx’s wife mistakenly tagged Prince William’s Instagram account instead of Harry's, added to the light-hearted moments of the night.
Despite the playful missteps, Harry's presence at the charity event was appreciated, with his heartfelt words honoring the bravery of first responders. He presented the award to Courtney, a helicopter pilot with an impressive 22 years of military service and 10,000 flight hours. Harry highlighted Courtney’s heroic efforts in a search-and-rescue mission, bringing attention to the personal sacrifices made by those who dedicate their lives to serving the public.
Although Meghan’s absence was a topic of conversation, Harry continues to stay in the public eye, with plans to travel to New York for upcoming events, including the Diana Awards and activities with the Halo Trust.
