PSG Triumphs Over Brest 3-1 to Maintain Perfect Start in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) continued their unbeaten streak with a commanding 3-1 victory against Brest in the fourth round of the 2024-2025 Ligue 1 season. The match took place at the Parc des Princes on September 14, 2024, just ahead of PSG’s upcoming Champions League fixture against Girona. This win marks PSG’s fourth consecutive victory, solidifying their position at the top of the Ligue 1 standings.

The match began with PSG dominating possession and creating multiple chances early on. The first half saw plenty of action, with Brest's goalkeeper Marco Bizot being kept busy, making crucial saves to keep his team in the game. Brest, however, struck first, taking a surprising lead in the 28th minute when Ludovic Ajorque was brought down in the box, leading to a penalty. Romain Del Castillo stepped up and calmly converted, putting Brest ahead 1-0.

Despite Brest's early advantage, PSG responded with urgency. Ousmane Dembélé, who was a key figure throughout the game, equalized just before halftime. In the 41st minute, Dembélé headed the ball into the net following a well-timed cross from Marco Asensio, restoring parity for PSG. The first half ended 1-1, leaving everything to play for in the second period.

PSG came out strong in the second half, determined to take control of the match. While Brest put up a valiant effort, PSG's relentless pressure eventually paid off. In the 73rd minute, Fabian Ruiz unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box that rocketed into the top corner, giving PSG a 2-1 lead. Just one minute later, Dembélé added his second goal of the night, securing the win for PSG. His clinical finish after some quick play in the box left Brest with no chance to recover.

This result keeps PSG's perfect start intact, as they remain unbeaten and sit comfortably at the top of the Ligue 1 table. For Brest, the defeat leaves them in 12th place, but they can take some positives from their spirited performance, especially their early lead against a formidable opponent.

PSG now turns their focus to their Champions League match against Girona, while Brest will look to bounce back when they face Toulouse in the next round of Ligue 1. With this victory, PSG sends a clear message to their domestic and European rivals: they are in top form and ready for the challenges ahead.
