He passed away suddenly on July 14 in his hometown of New Orleans, leaving behind a legacy of excitement and enthusiasm that Ravens fans will never forget.

Joe D'Alessandris, known affectionately as "Joe D.," served as the Ravens' offensive line coach since 2017. Sadly, he passed away on August 25, just 11 days after being hospitalized with an acute illness. Players have dedicated their upcoming season to "Joe D.," vowing to honor his memory with their play on the field.
The decals, which will be placed on the back of each player's helmet, just above their numbers, are a small but significant way for the Ravens to keep the memories of Jones and D'Alessandris alive throughout the season.
