Yankees Power Past A's with 10-0 Victory in Home Run-Filled Performance
The New York Yankees delivered an explosive offensive performance against the Oakland Athletics, securing a commanding 10-0 victory on Saturday night. The game, held at Oakland Coliseum, saw the Yankees showcase their power with three massive home runs that set the tone for the evening. From the very start, the Yankees put pressure on A’s pitcher J.P. Sears, loading the bases in the first inning. Although Sears managed to get Giancarlo Stanton to ground into a double play, the Yankees were still able to grab an early lead, thanks to a key RBI single from Jasson Dominguez.
Anthony Volpe continued his hot streak, coming off a three-hit night on Friday, by smashing a 421-foot solo home run in the second inning. This not only extended the Yankees’ lead to 3-0 but also marked the longest home run of Volpe’s young career. By the third inning, the Yankees were fully in control. After singles from Juan Soto and Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton stepped up again, this time delivering a monstrous 441-foot home run to left field, giving the Yankees a commanding 6-0 lead. Stanton’s blast, which left his bat at an impressive 111.5 mph, effectively sealed the Athletics' fate.

On the mound, Yankees’ left-hander Carlos Rodon took full advantage of the offensive cushion. Rodon pitched six dominant innings, allowing just five hits while striking out four. The Athletics couldn’t mount any serious threats, and Rodon, who has been solid for the Yankees recently, further cemented his postseason readiness by lowering his ERA to 2.97 over his last 12 starts. Aaron Judge also joined the home run parade, launching his 54th of the season in the seventh inning with a 425-foot shot. Judge’s powerful swing capped off a night where everything seemed to click for the Yankees.
Gleyber Torres quietly contributed with a 3-for-6 performance, driving in two more runs in the seventh inning with a bases-loaded single. The Yankees' offense was firing on all cylinders, and their 10-0 rout of the Athletics moved them one step closer to clinching the AL East division. With a three-game sweep on the horizon, the Yankees are looking strong as they head into the final stretch of the season.
Giancarlo Stanton, with his three-run homer, was the clear standout, solidifying the Yankees' win early in the game.
