Tonight, Kia has officially introduced its highly anticipated 2025 Tasman ute, marking a significant moment in the Australian and global markets. This new model is positioned to take on giants like the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux, appealing to those who want a robust, versatile pickup with advanced features. Revealed simultaneously in Tasmania and at the Jeddah Motor Show in Saudi Arabia, the Tasman is more than just another entrant in the crowded ute segment—it’s a declaration of Kia’s serious ambitions in the utility vehicle market.
Powering the 2025 Kia Tasman is a capable 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine that’s already proven itself in models like the Kia Sorento. This engine brings an impressive 155 kW and 441 Nm of torque, giving the Tasman both the power and endurance necessary for the demands of Australian terrains. With a towing capacity of 3500 kg and a maximum water wading depth of 800 mm, the Tasman is crafted for adventurous outings and tough work alike, challenging long-established players such as the Isuzu D-Max and Mitsubishi Triton.

Two versions of the Tasman will be available: the X-Line and the X-Pro.
