Baba Siddique's Tragic Death Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang: Unraveling the Mystery

Baba Siddique, a former three-time MLA from Bandra West and a prominent political figure in Maharashtra, was tragically shot dead in Bandra last night, sending shockwaves through the political and public spheres. Reports suggest that the suspects arrested in connection with his murder claimed to belong to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a notorious criminal outfit. However, these claims are yet to be verified, as the gang itself has not officially taken responsibility for the assassination. The brutal killing comes at a critical time, raising serious security concerns ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra state elections.

Siddique, 66, was an influential leader in the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). His assassination was particularly chilling as it took place in the vicinity of his son’s office, where at least six bullets were fired, four of which hit Siddique in the chest. Two suspects, Karnail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, have been arrested, while the third suspect remains at large. Police suspect that an insider may have provided crucial information about Siddique’s location, allowing the shooters to carry out their plan.

Sources close to the investigation reveal that the shooters had been conducting a recce of the area for about a month before carrying out the attack. This murder is being probed from two different angles — one focusing on the Bishnoi gang and another linked to a slum rehabilitation case. The Bishnoi gang's involvement is suspected due to Siddique’s proximity to Bollywood star Salman Khan, who has been a target of the gang in the past. Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang is notorious for its wide network and connections to several high-profile crimes, including the murder of rapper Sidhu Moosewala.

Despite receiving Y-category security following recent threats, Siddique had not reported any specific threat from the Bishnoi gang. As investigations continue, the police and central agencies are exploring every possible lead, with close coordination between the Mumbai Police, Gujarat, and Delhi authorities. Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in jail, has a long criminal history and has been associated with extortion and high-profile attacks, making his gang a prime suspect.

This tragic incident has left a deep void in Maharashtra politics. Siddique’s political journey spanned several decades, and his influence extended beyond politics into Bollywood. His legacy includes memorable moments, such as hosting the iconic 2013 iftar party where Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan famously reconciled after a long-standing feud.
