This chillier start to the day is coupled with thick fog, particularly heavy over regions like Chungcheong and parts of the southern inland areas, where visibility can be reduced to less than 200 meters. If you're commuting, please drive carefully, as low-visibility alerts are in effect. For instance, Gwangju Airport currently has a “low visibility warning,” which could impact travel.

The good news, however, is that this fog will lift as the morning progresses, giving way to clear skies. We can expect a noticeable shift as the sun takes over, creating a pleasant contrast to the chilly start. By midday, temperatures will rise, making it quite comfortable for outdoor activities. In Seoul, for instance, the high is expected to reach around 20°C, while places like Gwangju and Daegu will see temperatures peak at around 22°C. This pattern is fairly typical for fall, as we often experience significant differences between morning and afternoon temperatures.
Throughout this week, temperatures are expected to remain mild and a bit warmer than the seasonal average. However, towards the end of the week, southern regions and Jeju Island may experience some rain due to residual clouds from Typhoon Kong-Rei, which is currently moving northward. Although the typhoon is weakening, the lingering clouds and potential precipitation could bring about local showers, especially in the southern parts of the country. Additionally, coastal areas, particularly around Jeju, should be cautious of high waves from swells, which can make coastal activities risky.
