FSU's Historic Streak Ends with First-Ever Loss to Duke in Crushing Defeat
Florida State football faced a bitter blow on Friday night, suffering their first-ever loss to Duke, marking a low point in the program’s history. The Seminoles, who held a 22-0 all-time record against the Blue Devils, fell 23-16 in a game riddled with turnovers and mistakes that haunted them throughout the night.
From the outset, it was clear that FSU would be in for a tough battle. The game’s opening moments saw the Seminoles force Duke into a three-and-out, followed by an early field goal that gave FSU a 3-0 lead. However, things quickly unraveled. FSU's offense struggled with consistency, and turnovers became a recurring theme, gifting Duke prime opportunities to score. In total, Florida State turned the ball over four times, giving up 17 points off those mistakes, which proved to be too much to overcome.

Despite some strong defensive moments, FSU couldn't capitalize. The defense allowed Duke only 1.9 yards per play in the first half and kept them out of the end zone in the second half. However, the offense faltered time and again. Quarterback changes were frequent, as Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek both took turns leading the team, yet neither could stabilize the offense.
