Michelle Keegan Opens Up About the "Boring" Shift in Her Marriage with Mark Wright
Michelle Keegan, known for her roles in Fool Me Once and Brassic , recently opened up about a shift in her marriage to reality TV star and presenter Mark Wright. As they approach their 10th wedding anniversary next May, Michelle revealed that their once lively, late-night date nights have taken a quieter turn. In an interview, she humorously admitted that things have become "a bit more boring" in their nine-year marriage.

Reflecting on how their dates used to be, Michelle shared that she and Mark would often go out for dinner and drinks until the early hours of the morning. But nowadays, she confessed, it's a different story. "Now, after dinner, I look at my watch, and it's 9:30 pm, and I'll say, 'We’d better get back home for bedtime!' It’s a bit more boring now," she said with a laugh. Despite this shift, Michelle emphasized that they still enjoy getting dressed up for a nice meal out, but equally value their cozy nights in, watching TV and relaxing with their dogs.
This change in pace isn’t entirely surprising, considering the stunning home the couple now shares—a sprawling £3.5 million mansion in Essex. Their luxurious property boasts five bedrooms, a state-of-the-art gym, a sauna, an outdoor pool, and even a cinema room. Michelle and Mark documented their home renovation journey on a dedicated Instagram page, which gave fans an inside look into their impressive project that was completed in 2023. To celebrate, the couple threw a memorable 'Marchella' housewarming party, attended by their close friends and family.
The journey to building their dream home wasn’t without its challenges. Michelle, who was working in Australia during much of the renovation process, has been candid about the sacrifices they made along the way. She teared up during an interview, explaining, "It still gets me emotional because we’ve worked really hard for it. We’ve had to make a lot of sacrifices." With both of their demanding work schedules, the couple has spent extended periods apart, including the time when Mark worked in Los Angeles. However, Michelle is clear that despite the sacrifices, the end result has been worth it. She also noted that their home isn't just about luxury but also a sense of security—something she values, knowing that their public lives may not last forever.
Michelle and Mark’s love story started behind the scenes of The X Factor and blossomed after crossing paths at various events. They made things official in 2012, and Mark proposed during a romantic getaway in Dubai the following year. The couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in 2015, and despite their busy careers, they’ve managed to maintain a solid relationship.
Michelle’s reflections give fans a candid glimpse into how she and Mark have adjusted to a slower, more comfortable rhythm in their relationship. Even as their date nights have become a bit tamer, there’s no doubt that the couple continues to share a deep bond, built on mutual respect and shared memories.
