The Curious Case of Alice and Adeline Chang: Viral Antics Stir Malaysian Social Media

Malaysian social media has been buzzing recently over the actions of two sisters, Alice and Adeline Chang, whose unconventional behavior has captured the public’s attention and sparked wide-ranging reactions. Alice Chang first became infamous when she shared an 18-second video of herself kissing a piece of dough at an Auntie Anne’s pretzel outlet in Kuala Lumpur. The unhygienic act led to her immediate termination from her position at the outlet and caused an online uproar. Her actions were widely condemned, leading Auntie Anne’s to issue an apology and shut down the outlet temporarily to regain public trust.

What makes this situation even more interesting is that Alice’s story didn’t stop there. Shortly after the Auntie Anne’s incident, Alice was spotted at Cold Stone Creamery in Kuala Lumpur, where she allegedly tried to secure a part-time job by concealing her identity. In response to her public post showing her in the store, Cold Stone quickly released a statement clarifying that Alice was not hired and had no access to food preparation areas. They even went as far as to assure customers that the store was thoroughly cleaned after her brief presence, a move that further amused and baffled social media users.

Meanwhile, Alice’s sister, Adeline Chang, has had her own share of controversy. She became notorious for a series of incidents involving not paying for rides or services, a scheme where she would book rides on platforms like Grab and then claim her e-wallet was empty, paying only a small amount or none at all. This behavior led to her being blacklisted from Grab, and similar complaints have surfaced from salons and other service providers.

The Chang sisters have become the talk of the town, both for their bizarre public actions and for their seemingly frequent appearances on TikTok livestreams, modeling and collaborating with influencers. While their antics have drawn widespread ridicule, some social media users have raised questions about their mental well-being and speculated on deeper personal struggles.

The viral nature of these incidents raises broader questions about the role of social media in amplifying such stories and how society reacts to individuals who seem to push boundaries of public behavior. Whether they are simply seeking attention or there’s more to their actions remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: the Chang sisters have become household names in Malaysia, for better or worse.
