Wendy's Brings the Krabby Patty to Life with Limited-Time SpongeBob Collab
Fans of "SpongeBob SquarePants" are in for a treat as Wendy's unveils its exciting new collaboration celebrating the beloved cartoon's 25th anniversary. The fast-food chain is bringing the fictional Krabby Patty to life with their limited-time "Krabby Patty Kollab," available at restaurants nationwide starting October 8. Wendy's has partnered with Paramount to recreate the iconic burger, marking the first time this famous meal from Bikini Bottom has appeared on a real-world menu.
The star of this collaboration is, of course, the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger. Wendy's interpretation of the famous Krusty Krab burger includes a quarter-pound beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and a "top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce" layered on a toasted bun. This closely guarded sauce recipe is designed to capture the mystery and allure of the Krabby Patty, much like how Mr. Krabs protects his famous formula in the animated show. While we don’t know exactly what’s in this sauce, Wendy’s assures that it will be worth the wait for SpongeBob fans and burger enthusiasts alike.

To complement the burger, Wendy’s is also introducing the "Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty," a vanilla Frosty with a pineapple mango puree swirl—a flavor that feels straight out of SpongeBob’s oceanic world. This tropical twist on their classic Frosty adds a fun and unique element to the collaboration.
Wendy's fans in Los Angeles are even luckier, as a select group of customers will get early access to the Krabby Patty at an immersive drive-thru experience in Panorama City on October 7. For everyone else, the highly anticipated meal officially hits menus nationwide on October 8, and will also be available on the Wendy's app.
This collaboration marks a nostalgic nod to the enduring popularity of "SpongeBob SquarePants," which first aired on Nickelodeon in 1999. Wendy’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, Lindsay Radkoski, commented on how natural it is for two pop culture icons—Wendy’s square burgers and SpongeBob’s square pants—to join forces. Paramount's CMO, Dario Spina, echoed this sentiment, calling the partnership a perfect way to continue the celebration of SpongeBob’s 25th anniversary.
However, not all SpongeBob fans are thrilled about the collaboration. Some critics have pointed out that the show’s late creator, Stephen Hillenburg, was known to have reservations about fast-food tie-ins, particularly because of hidden additives in such meals. Despite this, Wendy’s hopes the nostalgic excitement around the Krabby Patty will bring fans of all ages together for this fun and limited-time experience.
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to try a Krabby Patty, now’s your chance to dive into this playful, underwater-inspired meal at Wendy’s!
