Glastonbury Announces Major Overhaul to Ticket Buying Process for 2025

This year, Glastonbury Festival is making a significant shift in its ticket-purchasing process, and fans should be prepared for a very different experience. Set to take place from June 25-29, 2025, this world-renowned festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset has revamped how festivalgoers can secure their tickets, hoping to improve fairness and cut down on technical issues and disappointment. This move follows major disruptions earlier in the year with the Oasis reunion ticket sales, where fans expressed frustration over failed attempts and higher-than-expected prices. With these changes, Glastonbury organizers aim to simplify the process while offering a smoother and more equitable experience for everyone.

One of the primary updates is that hopeful ticket buyers should avoid refreshing the ticketing page and refrain from using multiple devices or tabs to increase their chances. Instead, festivalgoers are encouraged to log in a few minutes before the sale starts on November 14 and wait patiently. When the sale opens, all logged-in users will be automatically assigned a random spot in a virtual queue. This means that being early won’t necessarily get you to the front of the line, but it does ensure you’re placed in the queue, avoiding the risk of being relegated to the back if you arrive late. Any latecomers who log in after the sale begins will be added to the end of the line, so arriving promptly is still essential.

Once users enter the queue, they’ll see a progress bar indicating how close they are to the booking page. The updated guidelines emphasize that refreshing the page or using multiple devices could harm your place in the queue, potentially triggering the site’s anti-bot software, which could remove you from the line entirely. Organizers have also cautioned against opening new tabs or minimizing the ticket page, as this could result in the session timing out.

Ticket prices for Glastonbury 2025 have risen slightly, costing £373.50 plus a £5 booking fee. Fans need to be registered on the See Tickets website by November 11 to qualify for the sale. When their turn comes, fans can buy up to six tickets in a single transaction, but they’ll need all relevant registration details ready since tickets are non-transferable once booked. Buyers will only have ten minutes to complete the purchase before their session expires.

The festival website has also addressed concerns over the website’s appearance during high traffic. Users may encounter a more minimal version of the See Tickets booking page, but the organizers clarified that this does not indicate a crash. If fans see a “SOLD OUT” message, it’s the end of the line, though there will be a resale for any returned tickets in the spring.

As for the festival lineup, it’s still under wraps, but Oasis has already dismissed rumors of a 2025 Glastonbury performance, confirming they will not be taking the stage next summer. Fans will need to wait until after tickets go on sale for full lineup details. For those who miss out this year, 2026 is expected to be a "fallow" year, giving Worthy Farm a break as per the festival’s tradition of taking one year off every five years.

Glastonbury’s new ticketing approach aims to make the process as fair and frustration-free as possible. By keeping things streamlined and transparent, the festival hopes to address many of the common issues that have plagued past sales, making 2025’s ticketing process a smoother experience for everyone.
