Developed by Team Asobi, this vibrant and charming PlayStation platformer triumphed over formidable competitors, including Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth , Black Myth: Wukong , Metaphor: ReFantazio , Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree , and indie darling Balatro . The game also snagged three additional awards: Best Family Game, Best Action/Adventure, and Best Game Direction, solidifying its place as a standout title of the year.

Accepting the trophy, Nicolas Doucet, head of Team Asobi, graciously acknowledged industry peers, even offering a nod to rival Nintendo. The victory for Astro Bot not only celebrates the legacy of PlayStation's iconic characters but also underscores the enduring appeal of innovative platforming games.
