Eminem Predicts Kendrick Lamar Will 'Sweep' the 2025 Grammy Awards
Eminem recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming 2025 Grammy Awards, and his prediction for Kendrick Lamar's performance is nothing short of bold. While the two rap legends will be facing off in the Best Rap Performance category with Eminem's "Houdini" and Kendrick Lamar's chart-topping hits, Eminem is already conceding the victory to Lamar, stating that the Compton rapper is set to "sweep" all seven of his nominations.
Lamar's dominance in 2024 was undeniable. Not only did he win numerous accolades, but he was also named Billboard’s Greatest Pop Star of the Year. His musical influence reached new heights, with hits like "Not Like Us," a diss track aimed at Drake, and his collaboration on Future and Metro Boomin's "Like That," both of which topped the Billboard Hot 100. Lamar’s versatility and impact on hip-hop have earned him the respect of his peers, and Eminem, who has long acknowledged Lamar’s talent, is fully on board with his success at the Grammys.
During a recent interview to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Shade45, Eminem's SiriusXM station, he took a moment to praise Kendrick’s accomplishments. “It’s very stiff competition,” Eminem admitted, acknowledging the challenge of the Best Rap Performance category. “Kendrick is gonna sweep that sh–. He’s going to, and he should,” he confidently declared. This statement came as no surprise to fans, considering Eminem's long-standing admiration for Lamar's lyricism. In fact, Eminem has consistently placed Kendrick at the very top of the list of modern lyricists, claiming he is not only the best of this generation but one of the greatest of all time.

Lamar’s Grammy nominations come as no shock given his remarkable year. He has earned multiple nominations across different categories, including Best Rap Performance, with some of his tracks being considered twice due to his involvement in both his solo projects and collaborations. With seven nominations, including dual nods for his contributions to major hits, Lamar’s chances at sweeping the ceremony are looking strong.
However, Eminem isn’t only looking at Lamar’s success in the context of their competition. The Detroit rapper also earned his place in the Best Rap Album category for his recent release, The Death of Slim Shady . Yet, Lamar’s album GNX , which was released outside of the 2025 Grammy calendar, won’t be eligible for this year’s awards but will instead be up for consideration in the 2026 Grammys. This opens up the field for other deserving artists in the Best Rap Album category but only further solidifies Lamar’s dominant position for 2025.
Eminem and Kendrick Lamar’s mutual respect for each other has been evident for years, especially after they shared the stage during the Super Bowl LVI halftime show in 2022. There, they performed together as part of an iconic ensemble led by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
As the 2025 Grammy Awards draw closer, all eyes will be on Kendrick Lamar. With the backing of Eminem and an impressive lineup of nominations, Lamar’s performance at the ceremony is expected to be one for the history books. Fans of both rappers are eager to see how the night unfolds, but one thing is for certain—Lamar's impact on the music industry is undeniable, and 2025 looks like it will be another monumental year for him.
