Fargo City Commissioner John Strand has taken on a pivotal national role by being named Vice Chair of the National League of Cities (NLC) 2025 Human Development Federal Advocacy Committee. This prestigious appointment positions Commissioner Strand as a key figure in shaping federal advocacy efforts across a range of critical social policy areas.

Commissioner Strand’s one-year term will involve steering the NLC’s agenda on workforce development, education, mental health, public health, substance use, immigration, and support for veterans and seniors. His leadership will influence strategies that aim to address these pressing issues, benefiting municipalities across the United States.
