Major Police Operation Underway in Gosford CBD Amid Office Fire
An extensive police operation is currently underway in the Gosford Central Business District (CBD), as authorities investigate a fire that broke out in an office building earlier today. Emergency services were swiftly called to the scene on Donnison Street at around 2:30 PM after reports of thick black smoke billowing from the building. According to Fire and Rescue NSW, the fire alarm was triggered, prompting numerous triple-0 calls. The fire has since been contained, but smoke has heavily affected multiple levels of the office block, prompting evacuations of dozens of employees.
Over 40 firefighters, supported by 11 fire trucks, rushed to the scene to control the fire. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries. A witness to the event shared that they saw a man throw an item into the office, raising concerns about the possibility of an incendiary device being involved. NSW Police are now actively searching for the individual believed to be responsible for this act.

Among the evacuees was Michael Mantaj, director of Conditsis Lawyers, who confirmed that while he did not witness the suspect directly, he heard that an incendiary device had been thrown. He also assured that all staff members were safely accounted for, and no one was hurt in the ordeal.
The fire department acted swiftly, but the heavy smoke has made the building’s interior hazardous, and several levels are still being ventilated. Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the origin of the fire, with another operation taking place nearby. Local authorities are urging the public to avoid the Gosford CBD area to allow emergency services to carry out their work effectively.
