Shaun Hinds, Newbury’s chief executive, expressed his elation at this year’s 9,983-strong crowd, calling it a testament to the growing appeal of the sport. "It’s extraordinary to see such a rise," he said. "The energy of the crowd and the incredible performances on the track made it a day to remember."

This trend isn't confined to Newbury. Ascot’s Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle card saw record-breaking attendance, drawing 19,449 spectators. Similarly, Kempton’s two-day King George VI Chase meeting welcomed nearly 21,000 fans, marking a 1,000-person increase from last year. The event featured standout performances, including Constitution Hill’s triumph in the Christmas Hurdle and Sir Gino’s exhilarating run in the Wayward Lad Novices’ Chase.
Wetherby also joined the festive celebration, hosting its largest crowd in over eight years with more than 10,000 racegoers on December 26. The day, aided by pleasant weather and favorable scheduling, brought an infectious energy to the racecourse. Chief executive Jonjo Sanderson shared his satisfaction, noting the positive impact of factors like Leeds United’s away game and the festive atmosphere.
