Tragic Plane Crash in South Korea Claims 179 Lives

A jetliner operated by Jeju Air, arriving from Bangkok, failed to land safely at Muan International Airport, located roughly 290 kilometers south of Seoul. The Boeing 737-800 skidded off the runway, struck a concrete barrier, and erupted into flames after its landing gear reportedly failed to deploy. Of the 181 people on board, 179 lost their lives in what has become one of the deadliest aviation accidents in South Korean history.
Footage of the incident broadcast on South Korean television reveals the plane hurtling along the runway without its landing gear extended, before slamming into the wall and igniting a catastrophic explosion. The devastation left only the tail section of the aircraft somewhat recognizable amidst the wreckage. Emergency crews managed to rescue two survivors, both of whom are crew members. Though conscious and stable, they are undergoing treatment for injuries.
