Tragic School Shooting in Butte County: Gunman Dead, 2 Students Injured
It is with deep sorrow that we discuss a tragic event that unfolded today at Feather River Adventist School in Palermo, Butte County, California. This small K-8 institution, home to only 35 students, became the site of an unimaginable act of violence. A suspected gunman, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, entered the campus and opened fire, injuring two students before taking his own life.
The incident began around 1 p.m. when the Butte County Sheriff’s Office received a distressing 911 call reporting the active shooting. Responding officers arrived swiftly, finding the suspected shooter dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The two injured students were immediately transported to local hospitals, with one requiring airlift. Their conditions and further details about their identities remain undisclosed at this time.
