Saif Ali Khan Attacked in His Home, Police Investigate Intrusion
Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was the victim of a shocking attack at his Bandra residence in Mumbai. The incident occurred in the early hours of January 16, 2025, during what appears to have been an attempted burglary. The 54-year-old actor sustained six stab injuries, including one near his spine, and underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital. Fortunately, he is now out of danger and recovering under close medical supervision.
The Mumbai Police suspect that the intruder entered the actor’s residence through an adjacent building, scaling a wall to gain access. Early investigations also indicate the possibility of insider involvement, as one of Khan’s house staff may have knowingly or unknowingly facilitated the entry of the assailant. This individual is currently being questioned, while police teams are working tirelessly to trace and apprehend the attacker, who managed to flee the scene.

The attack has raised serious concerns about security, especially in high-profile areas like Bandra, home to many celebrities. CCTV footage from the building revealed no signs of forced entry shortly before the attack, suggesting that the intruder had been lurking in the premises for some time. Police are now scrutinizing surveillance videos and conducting a city-wide manhunt to identify and locate the culprit.
Prominent voices, including Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, have criticized the state government and police for the lapse in security. Citing similar incidents in the area, such as the attack on Salman Khan’s residence and the murder of veteran politician Baba Siddique, they questioned the safety of even the most secure neighborhoods in Mumbai. Actor Pooja Bhatt has also called for stronger police presence in Bandra to prevent such crimes.
The incident has drawn widespread attention, with fans and colleagues expressing their support and wishing Khan a speedy recovery. Kareena Kapoor Khan, his wife, assured the public that their children are safe and requested privacy as the family navigates this challenging time.
