Tragic Discovery in Search for Missing Plymouth Woman

The heartbreaking news of a young woman’s tragic fate has left the Plymouth community in shock. Lacey Lake, a 24-year-old woman reported missing on January 6, was last seen in a grey Mercedes taxi departing from Stonehouse, Plymouth. Her sudden disappearance prompted an urgent search led by Devon and Cornwall Police. Sadly, the search ended on January 7 with the discovery of a woman’s body in the Tamerton Foliot area.

Authorities were called to Linton Close around 1:20 PM on Tuesday following concerns for the welfare of a woman. Paramedics arrived but were unable to save her, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. While formal identification is still pending, Lacey’s family has been informed of the discovery. Police have stated that the death is being treated as “unexplained,” though it is not believed to be suspicious at this time.

Lacey’s disappearance had drawn widespread attention, with friends and family expressing increasing concern. Lacey, who was a Type 1 diabetic, had no insulin with her at the time she went missing, adding urgency to the search. Her phone had initially been active but was later found to have its location services disabled, further complicating efforts to locate her.

The discovery of the body followed a significant police presence in Tamerton Foliot earlier in the day, including a separate road incident involving a police car. However, authorities have not linked these events to Lacey’s disappearance.

This tragic incident has left the Plymouth community grieving, and many have extended their condolences to Lacey’s family. Her story is a somber reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of community support during difficult times.

As the investigation continues, police urge anyone with additional information to come forward by referencing log 845 of January 6. Meanwhile, Plymouth residents are reflecting on this devastating loss and rallying around the family of a young woman whose life ended far too soon.
