Tragic Plane Crash in Northeast Philadelphia: Medical Jet Carries Child, Mother, and Crew, Crashes Near Roosevelt Mall
A tragic incident unfolded on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Northeast Philadelphia when a medical transport plane, a Learjet 55, crashed near the Roosevelt Mall. The plane, which was carrying a pediatric patient, her mother, and four crew members, went down around 6:30 p.m. shortly after departing from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. The jet, en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, tragically exploded on impact, causing an intense fire that affected nearby homes, vehicles, and other debris scattered around the area.
