Barcelona and Atletico Madrid Deliver a Copa del Rey Classic!
Wow, what a game that was! Barcelona and Atletico Madrid treated us to an absolute thriller in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final, ending in a jaw-dropping 4-4 draw. It was a match filled with everything you could ask for—goals, drama, comebacks, and last-minute heartbreak.
Atletico Madrid came out flying and stunned Barcelona with two quick goals in the opening minutes. First, Julian Alvarez capitalized on a clever flick from Clement Lenglet to put the visitors ahead. Then, Antoine Griezmann showed his class, exploiting Barcelona’s high defensive line and squeezing a shot past Wojciech Szczesny to double the lead. But Atletico Madrid never go down without a fight. Marcos Llorente unleashed a powerful strike in the 84th minute to make it 4-3, setting up a nervy finish. And then, in the dying moments of stoppage time, Sorloth—who just loves scoring against Barcelona—found the net once again to complete a stunning comeback.
