Celtic absolutely dismantled Dundee in a thrilling 6-0 victory at Celtic Park, extending their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 13 points. It was a statement performance from Brendan Rodgers’ side, with Arne Engels and Daizen Maeda both netting twice in a relentless attacking display.

The game started with Celtic probing Dundee’s defense, and it didn't take long for the breakthrough to come. A controversial VAR decision awarded Celtic a penalty in the 18th minute, overturning the referee’s initial call. Engels stepped up and calmly slotted the ball past Trevor Carson, marking his sixth penalty goal of the season.

Dundee showed some resilience in the first half, managing to frustrate Celtic for long periods. However, just before halftime, the pressure became too much. After Carson made two quick saves, Adam Idah was on hand to smash the ball into the roof of the net, doubling Celtic’s lead. That goal just before the break seemed to deflate Dundee, and from there, it was one-way traffic.

The second half was nothing short of a Celtic masterclass. Just before the hour mark, Maeda made his presence felt with a well-placed header from a Jota cross to make it 3-0. Moments later, the Japanese winger struck again, finishing off a brilliant team move with an audacious lob over Carson. Celtic were in full flow, and the goals kept coming.

Engels, already on the scoresheet from the penalty spot, produced a stunning long-range effort in the 71st minute, curling the ball in off the crossbar to make it 5-0. The crowd erupted in appreciation for what was a spectacular strike. But Celtic weren’t done yet. Nicolas Kühn, coming off the bench, capped off the demolition with a sublime curling effort from the edge of the box in the 81st minute, putting the finishing touch on an unforgettable night for the league leaders.

Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for his players, particularly Idah and Maeda, who caused problems for Dundee throughout the match. Jota, making his first start since returning to Celtic, was instrumental in the attack, setting up key chances and showing glimpses of the quality that made him a fan favorite.

Dundee, meanwhile, were left shell-shocked. Manager Tony Docherty admitted his side struggled to cope with Celtic’s intensity, acknowledging that defensive lapses cost them dearly. Despite a promising first half, they simply couldn’t live with Celtic’s ruthless attacking play after the break.

With this commanding victory, Celtic reaffirmed their dominance in the title race. If they continue playing like this, it’s hard to see anyone stopping them from claiming yet another Scottish Premiership crown.
