
Farewell to a Legendary Voice – Manouchehr Valizadeh Passes Away
Today, we say goodbye to a true legend of Iranian dubbing, Manouchehr Valizadeh, whose voice has been embedded in the memories of generations. After more than a month of battling illness in the intensive care unit, he passed away at the age of 84. His departure leaves a void in the world of voice acting, where he was an icon.
Born in 1939 in Tehran’s Lalehzar neighborhood, Valizadeh’s journey into the arts began in high school. His passion for performance led him to the Tehran Theater, where he took his first steps in acting. Soon after, he was introduced to the world of dubbing by the legendary Ali Kasmai, and his golden career took off.

Valizadeh’s voice became synonymous with some of the most beloved characters in film and television. He was the voice behind Lucky Luke , the iconic cowboy from the animated series, and Michael Scofield in Prison Break , a role that earned him immense recognition. Beyond these, he lent his powerful voice to some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Tom Hanks, John Travolta, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Nicolas Cage, Jason Statham, Jim Carrey, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, and even Elvis Presley . His ability to bring these characters to life in Persian made him a household name.
But Valizadeh wasn’t just a voice actor; he was also an actor and a radio presenter. His collaboration with Sobhe Jomeh Ba Shoma (Friday Morning With You) on the radio remains one of his most memorable contributions. He always credited his success to his mentor, Hooshang Latifpour, and considered himself a lifelong student of the craft.
His passing is not just a loss for Iranian cinema and television but for anyone who grew up listening to his incredible performances. His voice will continue to live on in the countless films, series, and animated shows he graced with his talent.
