High Wind Warning for Philly – Strong Gusts and Possible Midweek Snow

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning that kicks in this morning and will stick around until Monday evening. On top of that, we’re looking at a decent amount of rain today, and by midweek, there’s even talk of snow. Let’s break it all down.

We’re talking sustained winds of 25 to 40 mph , but those gusts could easily push to 60 mph, which is enough to knock down tree branches, power lines, and even cause some minor structural damage. Right now, some models are showing the possibility of a significant snowfall Wednesday night into Thursday , but honestly, it’s too early to know for sure. There’s a better than 60% chance we’ll see at least 4 inches , and in some scenarios, it could be much more. After today’s warm-up, we’re heading into a cold stretch . By Monday morning, temps will dip below freezing , and they won’t get much higher than the mid-30s for the next few days.
