Robertson’s Hat Trick Leads Stars to Victory Over Islanders

What a game in Elmont, New York! Jason Robertson absolutely stole the show, netting a stunning hat trick in just over eight minutes during the second period to power the Dallas Stars to a 4-3 victory over the New York Islanders. This was Robertson’s fourth career hat trick, and it couldn’t have come at a better time as the Stars extended their winning streak to three games and continued their dominance, winning eight of their last ten.

The game started with Dallas striking first. Just two minutes in, Sam Steel capitalized on a loose puck in front of the net and put the Stars up 1-0. But the Islanders responded in the second period, with Pierre Engvall sneaking a backhand past Jake Oettinger to tie it up. That’s when Robertson took over. First, he put Dallas back on top with a slick shot through traffic. But just seven seconds later, Kyle Palmieri answered right back for the Islanders, tying the game again at 2-2 in what felt like a wild, back-and-forth showdown.

Then came the game-changing moment. Casey Cizikas delivered a brutal hit to Lian Bichsel behind the Stars' net, earning a match penalty for an illegal hit to the head. Dallas went on the power play, and Robertson wasted no time, burying a one-timer off a great feed from Roope Hintz. He wasn’t done yet. Just a few minutes later, he pounced on a rebound and fired it past Ilya Sorokin for his third goal of the period, putting Dallas up 4-2. Hats off—literally!

The Islanders weren’t going down without a fight, though. Anthony Duclair brought them back within one in the third, finding the net on a quick backhand shot. The tension built as New York pushed hard for the equalizer, even pulling their goalie for an extra attacker in the final minutes. They thought they had the tying goal late in the period, but Jean-Gabriel Pageau’s shot was waved off due to goaltender interference.

Oettinger stood tall in net with 34 saves, making some huge stops down the stretch to keep Dallas ahead. In the end, the Stars held on, securing another big win and continuing their push in the standings. For the Islanders, it was another tough loss, marking their third in a row and fourth in their last five games.

An electrifying night of hockey, and a performance from Robertson that Stars fans won’t forget anytime soon!
