TV presenter Steph McGovern recently opened up about a heartwarming moment with her young daughter following her stint on Netflix’s Celebrity Bear Hunt . The show, which throws celebrities into survival challenges in the Costa Rican jungle under the guidance of Bear Grylls, was a thrilling adventure for Steph—but it was her daughter’s reaction that truly melted hearts.

In an exclusive chat with HELLO! , Steph shared how her four-year-old, who rarely appears in the public eye, didn’t fully grasp what her mom does for a living. However, the idea of a jungle sparked her imagination. "She doesn’t quite understand what I do, but she understood the concept of a jungle," Steph said. Before heading off to film the show, she made sure to talk to her daughter about Costa Rica, its wildlife, and the adventure ahead. The excitement carried over when Steph returned, with her little one eager to see what the jungle really looked like on screen.

Steph laughed about how kids can be brutally honest, saying, “They’ll probably watch it and go, ‘Oh, you were a bit rubbish!’” She also shared how she discovered her own adrenaline-junkie side during the experience, taking on extreme challenges despite her fears.

Unfortunately, the excitement didn’t end when the cameras stopped rolling. After making it through the jungle’s dangers, Steph suffered a painful accident right at home—slipping on ice outside her house and breaking her arm. The injury was so severe that she described it as "snapping the top half of my arm in two." Despite the ordeal, Steph showed up at the London premiere of Celebrity Bear Hunt in style, sporting a chic black co-ord outfit, complete with a sling supporting her injured arm.

On Instagram, she joked about the irony of completing intense jungle challenges, only to get seriously injured on her doorstep. “Literally, you're about to see all the things I did on Bear Hunt , which were way more dramatic and scary than walking outside my front door. But it was walking outside my front door that led to me snapping my arm in two.”

Even before the ice mishap, Steph had some intense moments while filming the show. At one point, she crashed into a cliff face, almost breaking her nose. The incident left host Holly Willoughby visibly shaken, with concerns that Steph might have to leave on medical grounds. However, after a 24-hour observation, she was cleared to continue—proving just how tough she really is.

Beyond her career, Steph is known for keeping her personal life private, but she occasionally gives glimpses into her life with her partner and daughter. She has spoken candidly about relationships, motherhood, and whether she plans to have more children, saying, “It feels like a no, but I’m not going to say a definite no because you never know.”

Despite the challenges, both in the jungle and at home, Steph remains in good spirits. As she continues to heal, fans can catch her adventure-filled journey on Celebrity Bear Hunt , now streaming on Netflix.
