Exciting news for rock fans—The White Stripes have once again been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! The Detroit duo, consisting of Jack White and Meg White, is among 14 nominees vying for a spot in the 2025 class. This marks their second nomination after being considered in 2023, their first year of eligibility. If inducted, they would become the 22nd Detroit act honored in the Hall of Fame’s performers' wing, joining legendary names like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Eminem.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s nomination list this year is packed with big names. First-time nominees include rock veterans like Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Maná, Outkast, and Phish. Meanwhile, returnees hoping for induction include Mariah Carey, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Oasis, Soundgarden, and, of course, The White Stripes.

The final list of inductees will be determined through a combination of votes from over 1,200 music industry professionals and historians, as well as a fan vote, which is already live at vote.rockhall.com. The winners will be announced in late April, and the induction ceremony will take place in Los Angeles this fall.

For those unfamiliar with The White Stripes' legacy, the band played a massive role in the garage rock revival of the late '90s and early 2000s. With albums like White Blood Cells and Elephant , they brought raw, blues-infused rock back into the mainstream. Their iconic anthem, Seven Nation Army , remains one of the most recognizable rock songs worldwide. Though the duo disbanded in 2011, Jack White has continued a successful solo career and runs Third Man Records, a major force in the vinyl resurgence.

Will this be the year The White Stripes finally get their place in rock history? Fans will have to wait until April to find out, but one thing’s for sure—their impact on music is undeniable!
