In The Style Faces Crisis as Job Cuts and Unpaid Debts Pile Up
In The Style, once a rising star in the fast-fashion industry, is now teetering on the brink of collapse. The company has reportedly cut at least 17 jobs, with some employees being dismissed without even receiving their most recent paychecks. This shocking turn of events follows reports that its private equity owner, Baaj Capital, has filed a notice of intent to appoint administrators—an indication that the company’s financial troubles have reached a critical point.
The fallout isn’t just impacting employees; high-profile influencers and celebrities who partnered with the brand are now speaking out about unpaid earnings. EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa and former Geordie Shore cast member Charlotte Crosby have publicly criticized In The Style for failing to pay them substantial amounts—allegedly in the five-figure range—for their collaborations.

Jossa, who had a long-standing relationship with the brand, took to social media to express her frustration, stating that she and her team have been completely ignored by the company despite her name and image still being used to promote products. She revealed that after four years of working with In The Style, she never imagined things would end this way. In a direct warning to other influencers, she cautioned that the company might not honor their contracts.
The company’s troubles have been building for a while. Just a few years ago, In The Style was valued at a staggering £105 million when it floated on the stock market in 2019. However, financial performance has declined sharply, leading to its acquisition by Baaj Capital in 2023 for just over £1 million—a massive drop from its previous valuation. Now, restructuring firm FTS Recovery is expected to strike a pre-pack administration deal for Baaj Capital, possibly sealing the fate of In The Style.
This is yet another example of a fast-fashion brand struggling to maintain profitability in a highly competitive and unpredictable market. While In The Style was once known for its influencer-led collaborations and rapid growth, the financial mismanagement and sudden job cuts paint a grim picture of its future.
As the dust settles, one big question remains: will In The Style find a way to recover, or is this the end of the road for the once-promising fashion retailer?
