India Triumphs Over Australia to Secure Champions Trophy Final Spot

Though he departed with just six runs needed, KL Rahul finished the job in style with a six of his own, sealing the win in emphatic fashion.
Earlier in the match, Australia looked set for a bigger total after Steve Smith’s gritty 73 and Alex Carey’s solid 61. At 198/4 in the 38th over, they were eyeing 300, but India’s bowlers fought back brilliantly. Mohammed Shami, with 3-48, and Varun Chakravarthy, with 2-49, led the charge as Australia collapsed to 264 all out. Key wickets at crucial moments, including Smith and Glenn Maxwell in quick succession, turned the game in India’s favor.
This victory is sweet revenge for India after their heartbreaking loss to Australia in the 2023 World Cup final. And now, they move one step closer to another ICC title.
