On the other side, Alexandra-Anne Boyer managed to put one past Waterloo’s defense for the Stingers, but it wasn’t enough to mount a comeback. The Stingers were outshot 32-27, and despite a few strong pushes, they couldn’t break through Waterloo’s determined defense. Special teams played a role, but neither team capitalized on the power play, with the Warriors going 0-for-3 and the Stingers 0-for-1.
Now, the stage is set for an electrifying championship showdown. The Warriors will face off against the third-seeded Bishop’s Gaiters, who edged out the Toronto Varsity Blues 2-1 in the other semifinal. The Gaiters showed their strength with a disciplined performance, scoring both of their goals on the power play, with Marjorie Bolduc and Noemie Fontaine leading the charge. Meanwhile, the Varsity Blues and Stingers will battle it out for the bronze medal.
As the tournament reaches its climax, all eyes will be on Waterloo and Bishop’s as they clash for the national title. Can Levitt and the Warriors complete their Cinderella run, or will the Gaiters claim the ultimate prize? One thing’s for sure—this U SPORTS final is going to be one for the books!
