Major Traffic Chaos as Monash Freeway Reopens After Multi-Vehicle Crash

According to reports, one person was injured in the accident and was rushed to Dandenong Hospital. Thankfully, no fatalities have been reported, but the situation was serious enough to warrant a major emergency response.
For those trying to navigate through the mess, things were rough. Drivers heading into the city from Heatherton Road faced delays of up to 30 minutes. Even after the freeway was reopened just before 2 PM, congestion remained a headache, stretching all the way back to the South Gippsland Freeway, with some areas still experiencing delays of around 20 minutes.
Transport Victoria’s Chris Miller spoke on 3AW, describing the crash as “really horrendous.” He urged motorists to take alternative routes wherever possible to ease the pressure on the freeway.
Footage from the scene showed emergency crews working quickly to manage the situation and tow trucks removing the damaged vehicles. It’s another reminder of how unpredictable the roads can be and why staying alert and cautious is so important.
