By 5 p.m. ET, they had reverted some suspected faulty code and were monitoring the situation to ensure things were stabilizing. Around 4:30 p.m. ET, some users—including journalists from USA TODAY—started receiving emails again, suggesting that the fix was starting to take effect.

As expected, frustrated users took to social media to vent. Many posted on X (formerly Twitter) about their inability to access their emails, wondering if the issue was just on their end or a widespread outage. A few users reassured others that they weren’t alone in experiencing these disruptions.
