Race-by-Race Insights for Saturday's Rosehill Meeting
Alright, racing fans, let's dive into the highly anticipated Rosehill meeting coming up this Saturday. We've got race-by-race insights, tips, and previews to help you stay ahead of the game.
Starting with Race 1, the Midway Handicap (1300m) at 12:30 PM, we've got our eyes on Let’s Go Again. Last time out, this lightly raced five-year-old had a tough run at Gosford, but she’s proven on wet tracks. Carrying just 53kg, she’s well-placed to improve. Mahogany Girl, on the other hand, is up in the weights but comes in with strong form. If roughie Artiebett makes the field, she could be a threat late. The play here: Let’s Go Again each way.
Moving on to Race 2, the Rosehill Bowling Club Baillieu (1400m) at 1:05 PM, Nepotism was outstanding on debut in the Todman Stakes. Coming from the family of Black Caviar and All Too Hard, he should relish the extra distance. If the track turns heavy, it’s an unknown, but the form line is strong. Savvy Hallie and Next Jen are worth considering too. Play it: Nepotism to win.
In Race 3, the Tulloch Stakes (2000m) at 1:40 PM, Tenbury Wells has had a couple of tough runs but looks better suited here with the blinkers off and stepping up in trip. He loves wet ground and should be competitive. King Of Thunder and War Ribbon also bring solid credentials. Betting play: Tenbury Wells each way.

Now to Race 4, the Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m) at 2:15 PM. Ceolwulf is the class act here, though he carries 59.5kg. He has never won at this distance but has placed in some strong races. A wet track will test him, but he’s got the quality. Zarakem and Bois D’ Argent are the main threats. Expect Ceolwulf to be in the finish.
Race 5, the Emancipation Stakes (1500m) at 2:50 PM, sees Scarlet Oak looking for a wet track to show her best. She had no luck in the Coolmore Classic but finds a winnable race here. Harlem Queen, with blinkers on for the first time, is a danger. Play it: Scarlet Oak each way.
For Race 6, the Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) at 3:25 PM, Treasurethe Moment is the standout. This filly has been dominant in her last four runs, including a VRC Oaks win. The only question mark is the track condition, but she looks a class above. Movin Out and Declichy Boulevard are in the mix. Back Treasurethe Moment to win.
Moving into the Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m) at 4:00 PM, Mazu is primed for this. He’s had two solid runs and will appreciate getting out to 1200m on a wet track. Punch Lane and Uncommon James are the main challengers. Betting play: Mazu each way.
In Race 8, the Tancred Stakes (2400m) at 4:35 PM, Dubai Honour returns to Australian soil with strong form, including wins in the Ranvet and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. The 2400m suits him, and a wet track is in his favor. Duke De Sessa and Vauban look like the main threats. Expect Dubai Honour to win.
For Race 9, the Doncaster Prelude (1500m) at 5:15 PM, Ducasse is a big price dropper from his last run, and he loves wet tracks. Amenable and Willaidow are solid contenders, but Ducasse is worth backing each way.
Finally, Race 10, the World Pool Handicap (1400m) at 5:55 PM, sees Kibou stepping up to his ideal distance on wet ground. He’s drawn wide, which could work to his advantage. Rhapsody Chic and Well Timed round out the top chances. Play it: Kibou each way.
That wraps up our Rosehill preview! Get ready for a thrilling day of racing, and may the best bets win!
