Trader Joe's Recalls Gerolsteiner Sparkling Water Over Safety Hazard
Hey everyone, if you shop at Trader Joe's or love sparkling water, listen up—there’s a new recall you should know about. Trader Joe's has issued a recall on certain bottles of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water due to a potential hazard. The issue? The glass bottles might crack or break, posing a serious risk of injury.
So, here’s what’s going on. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall affects specific lot numbers: 11/28/2024 L and 11/27/2024 L. These bottles were sold at Trader Joe’s locations across multiple states for around $3 each. During production, research indicated that about 1% of bottles from these lots may have defects that could cause them to break unexpectedly. That’s a pretty serious safety concern—nobody wants to deal with shattered glass while opening a bottle of water.

If you have any of these bottles at home, Trader Joe's is urging you not to use them. Instead, dispose of them carefully and head to your nearest Trader Joe’s for a full refund. The best part? You don’t even need proof of purchase—just bring in the recalled bottle, and they’ll take care of the rest.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far, but with more than 61,000 bottles recalled, it’s important to stay cautious. This recall follows another one from just last month when Trader Joe’s had to pull their frozen Organic Acai Bowls due to potential contamination with plastic. While these recalls are concerning, it’s good to see Trader Joe’s acting swiftly to protect their customers.
If you have any questions about the recall, you can reach Trader Joe's Customer Relations at (626) 599-3817. Stay safe, check your pantry, and spread the word to anyone who might have purchased these bottles. Better safe than sorry!
