Last night in North Macedonia, a horrifying tragedy unfolded as a massive fire broke out at the Pulse nightclub in Kocani, a town located about 100 kilometers east of the capital, Skopje. The disaster struck in the early hours, around 3:00 AM local time, claiming the lives of at least 51 people and leaving more than 100 others injured.

The club was packed with as many as 1,500 attendees who had gathered for a concert by ADN, a popular hip-hop duo in the country. What was supposed to be a night of music and celebration quickly turned into a nightmare as flames rapidly engulfed the venue. Footage circulating on social media shows the building completely consumed by fire, with terrified concertgoers trying to escape.

According to local reports, the blaze may have been ignited by pyrotechnic effects used during the performance. Witnesses described seeing sparks from the stage reaching the ceiling, which then caught fire and spread at an alarming rate. Panic ensued as people rushed to exit the building, but the sheer number of attendees made evacuation difficult.

Emergency services responded swiftly, but by the time firefighters arrived, the inferno had already taken hold of the structure. Rescuers worked tirelessly to save as many people as possible, but the fire's intensity made it extremely challenging. In the aftermath, charred remains of the building stand as a stark reminder of the devastation.

Interior Minister Pance Toskovski confirmed that several arrests had been made in connection with the incident. Authorities are investigating potential negligence, and questions are being raised about whether safety regulations were adequately enforced at the venue.

North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski expressed his sorrow, calling it a "difficult and very sad day" for the country. He assured the public that the government is fully mobilized to deal with the consequences and uncover the causes of this catastrophe.

The loss of so many young lives has left the nation in mourning.
