Vancouver Canucks Shake Up Lineup in Playoff Push

This has been a stark contrast to his impressive 40-goal season last year. With 18 goals and 38 points in 60 games this season, the Canucks are hoping he can find his scoring touch at the right time.
Since mid-February, Vancouver has struggled to find consistency, winning just five of their last 12 games. They currently sit tied with the St. Louis Blues for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, with the Utah Hockey Club and Calgary Flames close behind. The Canucks are also shaking things up on defense, replacing Victor Mancini with Elias Pettersson. The young defenseman has played in 15 games this season, registering two assists. Meanwhile, Mancini has one goal and six points in 22 games. The Canucks’ defense has been middle-of-the-pack in terms of goals allowed, ranking 14th in the NHL with 204 goals conceded this season.
Injuries could also play a role in the upcoming game. Forward Conor Garland is listed as a game-time decision due to an undisclosed injury. Garland has been a key contributor this season, ranking third on the team with 41 points. Additionally, Filip Chytil remains out with concussion symptoms after a hit from Chicago Blackhawks’ Jason Dickinson. The hit, which was not penalized during the game, has left Canucks players frustrated, with Kiefer Sherwood making it clear that Dickinson will have to answer for it in the future.
