The investigation began on March 9, 2025, when officers responded to reports of attempted and successful break-ins near Denison Street and Middlefield Road. According to police, two suspects tried to gain entry into at least two homes before finally breaking into one, where they stole keys to motor vehicles parked in the driveway. Without hesitation, they took off in the stolen cars, leaving residents shaken.

Only two days later, on March 11, officers were called to another scene near Fonda Road and Golden Avenue. This time, four suspects attempted to break into another home before successfully gaining entry. Once again, they targeted car keys and managed to steal two more vehicles. The audacity of these crimes and the young age of at least one suspect have left the community deeply unsettled.
Thanks to swift investigative efforts, all four stolen vehicles have been recovered in Toronto. In a significant breakthrough, one of the suspects was caught red-handed when he returned to one of the stolen cars. Officers wasted no time in taking him into custody. The 13-year-old now faces multiple charges, including two counts of break and enter, four counts of motor vehicle theft, and possession of stolen property. Meanwhile, the remaining suspects—described as wearing masks, hooded sweaters, and track pants—are still on the run.
