Fakhar’s Firepower Lights Up Rawalpindi As Qalandars Clash With Gladiators
What a match we've had tonight in the Pakistan Super League 2025 — Lahore Qalandars locking horns with Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi for the fourth match of the tournament. And from the get-go, it was high-voltage stuff. Quetta won the toss and, opting to bowl first, handed Lahore the bat under the bright stadium lights. A bold move considering Fakhar Zaman was at the top of the order and clearly had other plans.
Now let me tell you, Fakhar looked like a man on a mission. After losing Mohammad Naeem early in the innings, it was Abdullah Shafique who stepped up initially to set the tone with a brisk 37 off 21. But once Fakhar found his rhythm, it was absolute carnage. He smashed 48 off just 28 deliveries, peppering the boundary with classy cuts, fearless pulls, and even a six that went flat over square leg — a shot that had Rawalpindi roaring. His strike rate of 171 showed just how dangerous he was looking out there.

Akeal Hosein and Usman Tariq tried to rein in the Qalandars' charge with their spin in the middle overs, but Fakhar wasn’t having any of it. Hosein took a wicket, but it cost him 35 runs in his 3 overs. One particular over saw Fakhar dance down the pitch and slam a powerful drive through extra cover — pure class, pure intent. You could feel the pressure mounting on Quetta, even though they had just come off an 80-run victory against Peshawar Zalmi in their opening game.
Daryl Mitchell, however, looked slightly out of touch and was lucky to survive a close LBW call that was overturned by DRS. The replays showed the ball was missing leg stump — talk about a sigh of relief! Mitchell didn’t make much of the lifeline though and seemed a bit scratchy at the crease.
Despite a few hiccups, Lahore's scoreboard was ticking nicely — 102 for 2 in 11 overs with a current run rate well over 9. The real question is, can Quetta chase it down? Given how dominant Abrar Ahmed was in their last match, you’d think they had the bowling muscle, but Lahore came in hungry tonight, ready to shake off the sting of their opening loss to Islamabad.
The game’s still alive and kicking, and if the first half is anything to go by, we’re in for a cracking finish. PSL 2025 has just gotten spicy — Lahore firing shots, Quetta holding their ground, and fans loving every moment. Keep watching, because this one’s far from over.
