Glasgow Set for a Weekend of Sunshine After a Glorious Week

Glasgow is basking in beautiful spring weather, and the good news is—it’s here to stay! After an unseasonably warm and sunny week, Glaswegians can look forward to a bright and mostly dry weekend ahead. While temperatures will dip slightly compared to earlier in the week, there’s still plenty of sunshine in store, making it a perfect time to enjoy the outdoors.

Forecasters from the Met Office predict that Friday (April 4) will see highs of around 15°C, with clear skies and bright sunshine dominating the day. As night falls, temperatures are expected to drop to around 5°C, with a few patchy clouds forming overnight. Moving into Saturday, the sun will continue to shine, although temperatures will be slightly cooler, peaking at around 12°C. While this may feel chilly compared to the highs of 18°C earlier this week, it’s actually quite typical for Glasgow in April.

Sunday morning will start off on a cool note, with temperatures dipping to 4°C around 7 AM. However, another bright and sunny day will allow temperatures to rise, reaching a pleasant 16°C by the afternoon. As we move into the new week, the warming trend will continue, with Monday forecasted to hit 17°C, followed by 19°C on Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday are expected to remain warm, with highs of 18°C.

Looking ahead, April showers are likely to return by Friday, April 11, bringing some scattered morning and afternoon rain. Saturday, April 12, is expected to remain dry, though cloud cover may increase, while Sunday, April 13, could see more prolonged periods of rain.

The current spell of fine weather is attributed to a high-pressure system settled over Scotland. According to the Met Office, this system will continue to bring dry and sunny conditions while also posing a risk of overnight frosts. While some periods of rain or showers could occur, particularly in the southern parts of the UK, the general outlook remains positive for northern Britain.

Overall, temperatures are expected to remain above average for this time of year. Warm days inland will be balanced by occasional chilly nights under clear skies. So, whether you’re planning a weekend stroll, a picnic in the park, or simply soaking up the sunshine, Glasgow is set to deliver another few days of fantastic spring weather. Enjoy it while it lasts!
