Oppo Find X8 Ultra Redefines Flagship Photography in a Sleek New Body
So, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra is finally here, and let me tell you — this one’s a beast. It’s Oppo’s 2025 flagship and it refines everything we loved about last year’s X7 Ultra, while packing in even more power and camera tech into a thinner, sleeker frame.
At just 8.78mm, it’s officially the thinnest flagship camera phone on the market right now — that’s thinner than both the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Vivo X100 Ultra. But don’t let the slim profile fool you. Oppo didn’t cut corners on durability either. The Find X8 Ultra has IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning it's protected from both water and powerful water jets, plus SGS-certified five-star drop resistance. It’s built to last.
Now let’s talk about the real headline here — the cameras. Oppo's calling this the "Holy Trinity" setup, and for good reason. It’s got not one, but two upgraded 50MP periscope zoom lenses. One's a 3x with a brighter f/2.1 aperture, and the other is a 6x 135mm with a significantly larger sensor and f/3.1 lens. Compared to rivals like the Galaxy S25 Ultra or Xiaomi 15 Ultra, these sensors are absolutely massive — Oppo claims up to 300% larger in some cases. That means more light, more detail, and better shots even in tough lighting.

The main sensor is still the 1-inch Sony LYT900, unchanged from last year, but still one of the biggest and best in any smartphone — much larger than the main cameras in both the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra. There’s also a new True Chroma camera designed to capture more accurate skin tones under any lighting, thanks to Hasselblad’s color tuning.
Performance-wise, the Find X8 Ultra is top-tier. It runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a crazy 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The display’s a gorgeous 6.82-inch 10-bit LTPO OLED with 1-120Hz refresh, QHD+ resolution, and a solid 1,600 nits peak brightness — nothing new, but still elite.
And the battery? A massive 6,100mAh silicon-carbon cell — nearly 20% bigger than before. It charges crazy fast too, with 100W SUPERVOOC wired and 50W AIRVOOC wireless, plus 10W reverse charging for accessories. All this without adding bulk? That’s impressive engineering.
Other cool touches? You get a customizable Shortcut button and a Quick button that acts as a physical camera shutter — a little nod to pro shooters. It also doubles down on video with 4K 120fps slow-mo and full Dolby Vision support.
It comes in three slick matte colors — Matte Black, Pure White, and Shell Pink — and it’s launching in China first on April 16. Prices start at CNY 6,499, which roughly translates to around $900 USD, but sadly, there's no global launch in sight yet.
All in all, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra isn’t just keeping up with the competition — it’s setting the bar for camera-centric smartphones in 2025.
