Real Sociedad's Squad for Real Madrid Clash: Oyarzabal, Aguerd, and Óskarsson Return
Real Sociedad is gearing up for a crucial Copa del Rey semifinal match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, with some positive news on the injury front. The squad list for this high-stakes encounter includes notable returns, but also some significant absentees.
Among the players making their comeback are captain Mikel Oyarzabal, along with Orri Óskarsson and Nayef Aguerd. Oyarzabal, who had to leave the training session early on Monday, is available for the match, and both Aguerd and Óskarsson return after missing the last game against Valladolid. The inclusion of these three players gives a boost to Imanol Alguacil’s side as they look to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg of the semifinal at home.

However, the squad is not without its challenges. Real Sociedad will be without several key players for this encounter. Zakharyan and Brais remain sidelined with long-term injuries, while Becker has not recovered in time to make the trip. Odriozola has also picked up another injury during post-match training on Sunday, adding to the team's woes. In addition, goalkeeper Pacheco, who has been in recovery for some time, is still not fit enough to contribute and will miss out. Imanol confirmed that Pacheco will need at least two more weeks of recovery before he is ready to rejoin the team.
With such a significant number of players unavailable, Imanol has decided to include young talents Dani Díaz and Mariezkurrena in the traveling squad. Despite the challenges, the coach emphasized the importance of the match and confirmed that the entire squad would make the trip to Madrid to ensure they have the support needed to fight for a place in the final.
This match is shaping up to be a monumental challenge for Real Sociedad, but with the return of key players like Oyarzabal, there is hope they can defy the odds and put up a strong fight against the mighty Real Madrid.
